Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, is a singer-songwriter and Canadian American. Over 20 albums have been made available by her. Her songs are classified by the label as alternative and folk. However, they also have influences from hip hop music, jazz, and punk. Ani DiFranco was the very first artist to establish her own record label in 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met in The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother is from Montreal as is her father, who is Italian heritage. Ani Difrasco wrote and sang the hit song "32 Flavors". This song appears on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. Another version of the track is included on the movie soundtrack of 1999's Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco issued an apology in 2013, following the revelation that it emerged that she had scheduled a three-day conference at an Louisiana plantation. While she had to cancel the workshop however, a lot of individuals (including our paper) didn't feel any regret. DiFranco offered a second apology a few days afterwards. While she is known by the name of Little Peoplesinger, she has worked with many musicians and artists, from Pete Seeger through Chuck D until Prince. She lives in New Orleans.
